Medellín has become a renovated city, where the construction sector has made an important contribution to its transformation, which, together with social, cultural and educational investment projects, has made the city an example for other cities in the pursuit of sustainable development.

In recent years, the city has positioned itself as a major event center in Latin America and thanks to its growing offer of services, hospitality, security, transport and infrastructure advances, has become relevant for both business and tourist visitors. In 2013, the Urban Land Institute recognized the city as the most innovative in the world, and in 2016, Medellín was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize.
